2-D coupled computational model of biological cell proliferation and nutrient delivery in a perfusion bioreactor

► We model the growth of cells and transport of nutrients in a perfusion bioreactor. ► The total number of cells in the bioreactor is insensitive to initial seeding. ► Total number of cells depends on permeability, blocking parameter and pump flow rate. ► Nutrient delivery increase with the increase in permeability of scaffold.
