Validation of the Century model to estimate the impact of agriculture on soil organic carbon in Southern Brazil

► The Century model is efficient tool to the long-term assessment of SOC stocks in Brazilian soils. ► A local validation is important to Century model adjustment to reduce uncertainties. ► We calibrated and validated the Century to study SOC stocks changes from 1900 to 2050. ► The model was used to simulate SOC stocks evolution in Southern Brazil farms. ► The Century estimated adequately the agriculture impact on soil C in Brazilian Oxisol.
