Correction of fluvial fluxes of chemical species for diurnal variation

► Daily sampling creates a systematic bias in water quality records. ► A method correcting for diurnal bias was developed. ► Correction is dependent upon in-stream residence time and the difference in diurnal loss rates. ► For DOC, correction of up to 25% in the estimated flux was required.
