Effect of carbonization temperature on adsorption property of ZIF-8 derived nanoporous carbon for water treatment

• Heat treatment had a significant effect on adsorption capacity of ZIF-8.
• Nanoporous carbon derived from ZIF-8 showed outstanding MB removal from water.
• The carbonization resulted in a change in the surface charge and pore size distribution.
