New dyes for DSSC containing triphenylamine based extended donor: Synthesis, photophysical properties and device performance

Three new dyes with Donor-Donor-Spacer-Acceptor (D-D-π-A) arrangement were designed and synthesized by efficient synthetic procedure. Photophysical properties of dyes were studied. 4.7% power conversion efficiency was achieved using these dyes in DSSC as sensitizer and [Co(bpy)3] as electrolyte.182
