Photophysical and bioactivity behavior of fac-rhenium(I) derivatives containing ditopic sulfurpyridine ligands

Novel fac-[Re(I)(bipy)(CO)3L]0/+ derivatives where L is a S-donor ditopic sulfurpyridine ligand are presented. Study of their luminescent properties, cytotoxic activity and cellular biodistribution indicates that their behavior contrast with that seen for analogous Re(I) complexes with N-donor pyridine derivatives.63
