Anticancer copper pyridine benzimidazole complexes: ROS generation, biomolecule interactions, and cytotoxicity

Cytotoxic redox-active copper complexes with functionalized bidentate nitrogen donor ligands and exchangeable chlorides are described. These compounds bind to albumin but interact weakly with DNA.
