Synthesis, crystal structure, DFT calculation and DNA binding studies of new water-soluble derivatives of dppz

Two new water soluble derivatives of dppz have been synthesized and structurally characterized. The DNA binding studies supported that these compounds can intercalate into ct-DNA.131
