Triterpenoid saponins from Polycarpaea corymbosa Lamk. var. eriantha Hochst

Four and one know triterpenoid saponins (1-5) were isolated from Polycarpaea corymbosa Lamk. var. eriantha Hochst. 16α,22α-diacetyl-camilliagenin A was not previously described. Two aglycones were reported for the first time in saponins of the Caryophyllaceae family. Their cytotoxicity was also evaluated and the 13,28-epoxyoleanane-type saponin exhibited a significant activity.
