Effect of starvation on the distribution of positional isomers and enantiomers of triacylglycerol in the diatom Phaeodactylum tricornutum

► Nearly 100 triacylglycerols having at least one PUFA were found in the diatom Phaeodactylum tricornutum. ► The polyunsaturated TAGs produced under N-, P- and S-starvation differ. ► The proportion of positional isomers of TAGs also differs under N-, P- and S-starvation. ► N-, P- and S-starvation also affects the proportion of enantiomers of TAGs.
