Structure elucidation and hepatotoxicity evaluation against HepG2 human cells of neo-clerodane diterpenes from Teucrium polium L.

► Seven clerodane diterpenes, teupolins VI-XII, were isolated from aerial part of Teucrium polium. ► The structure of the compounds have been elucidated by 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy. ► The cytotoxicity of seventeen neo-clerodanes from this plant has been assessed against HepG2 cells. ► All of the compounds showed low toxicity values also at the higher concentration tested.
