Medicinal chemistry and pharmacology of genus Tripterygium (Celastraceae)

Extracts of Tripterygium species have a long history of use in traditional Chinese Medicine and are being investigated as treatments for autoimmune diseases. This review discusses the biochemical composition and pharmacological activities of Tripterygium extracts, and their main bioactive components.
