The absolute configuration of (−)-3-hydroxy-α-calacorene

We have established that (8R)-(−)-3-hydroxy-α-calacorene is found in the flowers of Heterotheca inuloides, while accumulation of the opposite enantiomer is induced in cold-shocked seedlings of cotton and kenaf.
