A highly selective colorimetric probe based on 2,2′,2″-trisindolylmethene for cysteine/homocysteine

Tris(3-methylindole-2-yl)methene receptor displayed excellent selectivity and sensitivity for cysteine and homocysteine in aqueous MeCN at neutral pH by obvious color change from violet to colorless.
