Selective functionalization of β-cyclodextrin: efficient conversions of 2,3-alloepoxypyranosides to 2,3-mannoepithiopyranosides

A two-step one-pot method was established to efficiently convert up to three 2,3-alloepoxypyranoside residues to the 2,3-mannoepithiopyranosides within the β-cyclodextrin belts.
