Ab initio studies of the structure, physicochemical properties and behavior of lead chlorides and chloroplumbate anions in gaseous and aqueous phases

► Isolated lead chlorides PbClx are stable for x = 1 − 5. ► Negatively charged PbClx- are electronically stable for x = 1 − 6. ► Doubly charged PbClx2- anions are stable systems for x = 4 − 6. ► Stability of multiply charged chloroplumbate anions increases in water environment.
