Tautomerism in 5-aminotetrazole investigated by core-level photoelectron spectroscopy and ΔSCF calculations

► High-resolution XPS of 5-aminotetrazole reveals different tautomers. ► 5ATZ exists mainly in the 2H-form. ► Results obtained with DSCF are in good agreement with the observed binding energies.
