Single-phased white-light-emitting Sr3NaLa(PO4)3F:Eu2+,Mn2+ phosphor is synthesized via the combustion-assisted synthesis technique. Upon excitation of 344Â nm ultraviolet (UV) light, two intense broad bands have clearly been obtained due to the allowed 5d-4f transition of Eu2+ and the forbidden 4T1â6A1 transition of Mn2+, respectively. As a result of fine-tuning of the emission composition of the Eu2+ and Mn2+ ions, white-light emission can be realized by combining the emission of Eu2+ and Mn2+ in a single host lattice under UV light excitation. The obtained phosphor exhibits a strong excitation band between 250 and 420Â nm, matching well with the dominant emission band of a UV light-emitting-diode (LED) chip, which could be a promising candidate for UV-converting white-light-emitting diodes (LEDs).
