Inclusion complex formation of ionic liquids with cucurbit [7]uril studied by competitive binding of berberine fluorescent probe

► The inclusion of three ionic liquids in CB7 were studied by berberine as a probe. ► Ionic liquids can extrude berberine from CB7 cavity. ► NMR and PM6 calculation indicated the partial inclusion of ionic liquids by CB7.
