Electrogenerated chemiluminescence of a cationic cyclometalated iridium complex-Nafion modified electrode in neutral aqueous solution

► Cationic cyclometalated iridium complex was modified on a bare electrode. ► Electrochemiluminescence (ECL) of the modified electrode was studied. ► The ECL intensity is higher than that of Ru(bpy)32+ modified electrode. ► Oxalate could be detected based on the modified electrode.
