Dependence of luminescent properties and crystal structure of Li-doped ZnO nanoparticles upon Li content

► Li-doped ZnO nanoparticles exhibit an enhanced photoluminescence intensity. ► Li doping led to an increase of the oxygen-vacancy density. ► The incorporation of excess of Li into ZnO resulted in a weakened crystallinity.
