Optical properties of quantum wires: Rashba effect and external magnetic field

► The optical properties of a InAs quantum wire is studied under an magnetic field and the Rashba spin-orbit interaction. ► We have investigated the intersubband optical absorption coefficients and refractive index changes. ► The total refractive index changes decrease when the magnetic field and strength of the SOI increases. ► The total absorption coefficient decreases as the magnetic field and strength of the SOI decreases.
