Electroluminescence from GaN-polymer heterojunction

► We use a polymer Poly (9,9-dioctylfluorene-alt-benzothiadiazole) as a p-type layer to create a heterojunction. ► I-V characteristics of the device fabricated by us exhibits excellent rectification. ► The p-type polymer also emits yellow light, which when combined in proper composition with GaN, give rise to white light. ► Device can be readily fabricated by just spin coating the polymer over GaN reducing the cost of the device.
