Photoluminescence and transmittance of CdS1−xTex thin films

► CdSxTe1−x thin films were produced by the annealing of spray-deposited CdS:In thin films in the presence of tellurium vapor ► XRD diffractograms have shown the hexagonal structure of CdS:In besides features of the solid solution ► Transmittance was used to estimate the optical bandgap energy where more than one bandgap was observed for all films ► PL spectra are consistent with the results obtained by XRD, and the PL peaks are characteristic of the solid solution.
