Interface photoluminescence of the SnO2:F/CdS:In/CdTe thin film solar cells prepared partially by the spray pyrolysis technique

► Interface PL spectra of partially sprayed CdS/CdTe solar cells were investigated. ► Larger number of peaks in the PL spectra of the solar cell of the thicker CdTe layer. ► PL spectra showed CdSxTe1−x characteristic peaks. ► x was found using the parabolic relation between bandgap and composition. ► Better photovoltaic parameters were obtained for the cell of the thicker CdTe layer.
