Blue-green luminescent CdZnSeS nanocrystals synthesized with activated alkyl thiol

► Obtained blue-green luminescent nanocrystals by a one-step process. ► Alkyl thiol used as a sulfur source and a surface stabilizer to control particle size. ► Luminescence color of NCs could be easily tuned by changing their composition and particle size simultaneously.
