Charge transfer complexation of the anticholinergic drug clidinium bromide and picric acid in different polar solvents: Solvent effect on the spectroscopic and structural morphology properties of the product

The solvent significantly affects the structural morphology of the complex formed between the drug clidinium bromide and picric acid. In more polar solvent (MeCN), the complex forms tubal-like aggregates. The morphology of these aggregates changed to mixed polygonal and spherical nanoparticles in MeOH solvent. In less polar solvent (EtOH), the complex forms more nano- and spherical-ovoid particles with an average size of ~ 28 nm.394
