Bent shaped H-bonded mesogens derived from 1, 5-bis (4-hydroxyphenyl) penta-1, 4-dien-3-one: Synthesis, photophysical, mesomorphism and computational studies

New H-bonded bent shaped fluorescent mesogens derived from 1,5-bis (4 hydroxyphenyl) penta-1, 4-dien-3-one as a bent core unit exhibiting unidentified banana phase (Bx) and nematic phase are reported.
