Investigation of solution chemistry effects on sorption behavior of Sr(II) on sepiolite fibers

► We prepared and characterized sepiolite fibers by several techniques. ► Effects of pH, ionic strength and coexistent electrolyte ions were investigated. ► Ion exchange and surface complexation were the main sorption mechanisms. ► Humic substances affected the sorption of Sr(II) on sepiolite fibers evidently.
