Mesophilic alcohol dehydrogenase behavior in imidazolium based ionic liquids

► Alcohol dehydrogenases are of prime interest in the industrial field. ► Thermostability is an important property which restricts enzymes application. ► We investigated the effect of imidazolium based ionic liquids on stability. ► The enzyme revealed higher stability in [MIm][Cl] compared to aqueous buffer. ► [MIm][Cl] would be a suitable medium for storing the enzyme.
