Effect of β-cyclodextrin, surfactants and solvent on the reactions of the recently synthesized Schiff base and its Cu(II) complex with cyanide ion

► The reaction of a Schiff base with CN- and its complex with Cu2+ was investigated. ► The effects of surfactants and β-cyclodextrin on the reactions were studied. ► MCR-ALS was used to obtain the kinetic order of the reaction and its rate constant. ► The rate constant of the reactions in different conditions was calculated. ► The stability constant of the inclusion complex of Schiff base was estimated.
