Fourier transform microwave spectroscopy of the reactive intermediate monoiodosilylene, HSiI and DSiI

► Fourier transform microwave spectroscopy was used. ► Monoiodosilylenes HSiI and DSiI were studied. ► The nuclear quadrupole coupling tensor of iodine and the iodine spin rotation tensor were measured and interpreted.
