Erreurs à éviter dans le diagnostic des dysfonctions pelviennes

Pelvic floor failure is a common disorder, with a significant impact on quality of life. Symptoms may vary from abnormal descent of the organs (prolapse) to urinary, sexual or rectal symptoms. An optimal management of these disorders should be global, including the three compartments: anterior (urinary), middle (genital) and posterior (recto-anal). Initial clinical diagnostic is fundamental, documented by dynamic imaging: defecography, MRI, perineal ultrasound. Imaging also plays an important role in the evaluation of postoperative issues: complications, prolapse recurrences. Radiologists should be aware of the clinical and therapeutic consequences of their radiologic diagnosis, and of their possible errors in order to minimize them.
