Evidence-based Guideline Recommendations on the use of Positron Emission Tomography Imaging in Oesophageal Cancer

PET is recommended to improve the accuracy of M staging for the staging work-up of patients with oesophageal cancer who are potential candidates for curative therapy. Due to insufficient evidence, no recommendation was made for or against the use of PET for the assessment of treatment response and the evaluation of suspected recurrence.
