Myocardial hypertrophy is associated with inflammation and activation of endocannabinoid system in patients with aortic valve stenosis

Our study shows for the first time activation of the endocannabinoid system and predominant expression of its receptor CB2 on cardiomyocytes being associated with persistent inflammation and active remodeling in hypertrophic myocardium of patients with aortic stenosis.
