Anxiolytic effects of the melatonin MT2 receptor partial agonist UCM765: Comparison with melatonin and diazepam

► UCM765 shows mild anxiolytic properties similar to those of melatonin; ► The anxiolytic properties of melatonin and UCM765 are mediated by the MT2 receptor; ► Unlike diazepam, the anxiolytic dose of UCM765 and MLT does not lead to sedation; ► Pharmacological antagonism of MT1/MT2 or MT2 receptors induces no effects on anxiety.
