Direct and indirect impact of 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD) on adult mouse Leydig cells: An in vitro study

► Dioxins impacted Leydig cells through regulation of AhR, AhRR and Cyp1b1. ► Ccl5 and Cxcl4 were 2 chemokines regulated by TCDD in Leydig cells. ► The steroidogenic outcome of Leydig cells was not targeted by TCDD. ► TCDD effect on AhRR was opposed by the trophic hormone (hCG). ► TNFα stimulated AhR gene expression and did not oppose TCDD effect on AhRR.
