Cellular adaptive response to glutathione depletion modulates endothelial dysfunction triggered by TNF-α

► We investigated if Nrf2 pathway might alter response to TNF-α in endothelial cells. ► Endothelial cells have been exposed to GSH synthesis inhibitor BSO as Nrf2 inducer. ► Our results showed that BSO is able to reduce endothelial dysfunction. ► Finally inhibition of ERK1/2 is able to avoid Nrf2 translocation induced by BSO.
