Fluoxetine induces preventive and complex effects against colon cancer development in epithelial and stromal areas in rats

► We investigated fluoxetine against early colon cancer development. ► Fluoxetine treatment increased colonic serotonin levels. ► Fluoxetine and serotonin were related to lower colonic dysplastic injuries. ► Fluoxetine controlled proliferative process and malignant microvessels development.
