What is Comet assay not telling us: AFLP reveals wider aspects of genotoxicity

► AFLP was tested for assessment of DNA alterations in RTG-2 exposed to genotoxicants. ► Method was used in conjunction with commonly used genotoxicity test, Comet assay. ► Both quantitative and qualitative DNA alterations were observed with AFLP method. ► AFLP revealed DNA alterations even when Comet assay indicated complete DNA repair.
