DEDC, a new flavonoid induces apoptosis via a ROS-dependent mechanism in human neuroblastoma SH-SY5Y cells

► DEDC showed strong cytotoxicity against neuroblastoma cell line SH-SY5Y. ► Production of intracellular ROS is closely related to apoptosis of SH-SY5Y cells. ► NF-κB inhibitors increased SH-SY5Y cell sensitivity to the pro-apoptotic effect of DEDC. ► The study might offer theoretical basis for treatment of this childhood malignancy.
