Effects of the polycyclic ketone tonalide (AHTN) on some cell viability parameters and transcription of P450 and immunoregulatory genes in rainbow trout RTG-2 cells

► We probed a fish cell line with the musk fragrance contaminant tonalide AHTN. ► We tested effects on general cell viability and expression of key detoxifying and immunoregulatory genes. ► Some genes displayed dramatic differences in transcription levels. ► We propose immunoregulatory genes as a target for environmental assay of tonalide.
