Drainage of particle-stabilised aluminium composites through single films and Plateau borders

► Single liquid metallic films containing Mg and TiB2 particles are more stable. ► Structures resembling liquid metallic Plateau borders were created. ► Drainage of liquid aluminium composites was enabled over a period of 120 s. ► Known stabilisation mechanisms of foams could be discussed. ► A model system was developed for a direct comparison with real metal foams.
