Bubble growth rate from stainless steel substrate and needle nozzles

► Bubble growth from substrate nozzles is compared with that from needle nozzles. ► Bubble characteristics were generally the same for both cases. ► A unique cyclic fluctuation of bubble volume expansion rate was observed for the substrate nozzle case. ► A force analysis is conducted to reveal the observed fluctuations.
