pH regulation as a method of intensification of soil electroremediation
چکیده انگلیسی

Conditions of soil pH regulation were analyzed and theoretically substantiated allowing us to increase the rate and degree of soil decontamination from heavy metals and radionuclides. Experimental testing of a theoretical model developed was conducted in the process of decontamination of kaolinite and a mixture of montmorillonite and sand. The obtained results confirmed the relevancy of theoretical assumptions. The redistribution of the electric field strength and electromigration ion flows caused by soil pH regulation yielded a several-fold increase in the rate and degree of soil decontamination. The method developed allowed almost total removal of cobalt and uranium admixtures to be achieved within 24 h that was practically impossible without pH regulation even after the soil treatment for many days.
