Quality of life in epilepsy (QOLIE): Insights about epilepsy and support groups from people with epilepsy (San Francisco Bay Area, USA)

►We conducted focus groups to evaluate quality of life in people with epilepsy. ►6 focus groups were conducted in San Francisco to examine challenges due to epilepsy. ►Epilepsy leads to challenges in physical and psychosocial functioning among others. ►Social services seem useful in helping people with epilepsy overcome challenges. ►Differences between PWE in support groups and those who are not are highlighted.
