Progranulin overexpression in sensory neurons attenuates neuropathic pain in mice: Role of autophagy

The insets show key results of the present study: Progranulin overexpression in sensory neurons reduced nociceptive behavior after nerve injury, reduced protein aggregates in dorsal root ganglia (DRGs) and improved healing of the nerve stump. Progranulin colocalized with ATG4b and 12, which were yeast-2-hybrid preys, and facilitated the autophagic flux, which was impaired after nerve injury.
