Combined gene overexpression of neuropeptide Y and its receptor Y5 in the hippocampus suppresses seizures

► Overexpression of NPY Y5 receptors induced for the first time using rAAV. ► Hippocampal Y5 overexpression per se has no seizure-suppressant effect in rats. ► Combined Y5/NPY overexpression has a better seizure-suppressant effect than NPY alone.
