Strain differences in seizure-induced cell death following pilocarpine-induced status epilepticus

► Eleven inbred mouse strains underwent pilocarpine-induced status epilepticus. ► We compared eight inbred mouse strains for sensitivity to pilocarpine-induced seizures and seizure-induced cell death. ► We found no significant differences in seizure sensitivity following pilocarpine administration. ► Two of these strains (BALB/cJ and BALB/cByJ) are resistant to seizure-induced cell death.
