► 50% of Parkinson's patients show weight abnormalities ► The serotonergic system is known to regulate appetite ► We studied in 34 PD patients BMI changes and serotonergic function in vivo with PET ► Abnormal BMI changes were linked to raised SERT function in raphe nuclei and its limbic and cognitive connections ► Serotonergic agents could help alleviate abnormal changes in BMI in PD
